Financial Analyst

The Role

 

Collaborating with internal stakeholders, the Financial Analyst is responsible for providing performance insights, analysis, and recommendations to support executive decision-making and optimise business performance.

 

Reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, key responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Provide insightful analysis and commentary on performance to identify patterns and trends to inform business strategies.
  • Play a pivotal role in the annual budgeting and planning process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals as well as identifying possible opportunities and risks.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business initiatives, investments, and performance metrics.
  • Assess financial performance of various business units or projects and provide insights on areas of improvement or underperformance.
  • Focus on adding value to the business by partnering with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency improvements, and cost optimisation.

About You

 

We’re looking for a hands-on analyst that can make things happen! You will become part of a high-performing team culture that thrives on continuous improvement and service delivery. Reliable, hardworking, and flexible in your approach, you will also possess:

  • The ability to analyse financial and non-financial information and identify key drivers and reasons for variances against expectations, including offering recommendations to management to improve performance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with a strong service focus and the ability to develop relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools, including MS Excel (experience with business intelligence tools, such as Power BI, would be an advantage)
  • Bachelor of Accounting, Commerce or related discipline and will be CPA/CA qualified
