The role

Reporting to the Head of Investments we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Development Manager, who will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the development life cycle, from sourcing of opportunities and initial planning to project completion.

 

With an existing pipeline of high end residential projects and a defined long term strategy for growth, you will be joining Sarah Group at an exciting time with the opportunity to work on and develop some of Adelaide’s best projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct feasibility studies, market research, and financial analysis to evaluate development opportunities.
  • Preparation of opportunity assessments / business cases for our Capital and Investment committee.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to define project requirements, objectives, and specifications.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle, including site acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, design, construction, and handover.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, tenants and consultants to develop and review project designs, ensuring highest and best / maximising the feasibility.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, expenses, and cash flows to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful and timely completion.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in property development and construction.

 

About you!

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property development, excellent project management skills, and a proven track record of delivering successful development projects. You will be a motivated team player with the following key attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Real Estate, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years experience as a Development Manager or similar role in property development.
  • Knowledge of property development processes, including site selection, due diligence, design, construction, and handover.
  • Analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to conduct feasibility studies, financial analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with local zoning, building codes, regulations, and permit processes.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to effectively plan, organise, and execute development projects.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, consultants, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
